Monash Men’s Shed Supports Prostate Cancer awareness month

As part of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, members of the Monash Men’s Shed recently welcomed the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) for an informative session on men’s health.

The event drew a fantastic crowd of around 55–60 people, sparking important conversations about prostate cancer, testing and available support.

The impact was immediate. One participant committed on the spot to having a PSA test, while others said they planned to call the PCFA hotline (1800 22 00 99) for advice, or check out their local prostate cancer support groups.

Events like this highlight how Men’s Sheds play a vital role in encouraging open discussion and supporting men’s health. By creating safe, welcoming spaces, Sheds help their members – and the wider community, take proactive steps towards early detection and better health outcomes.
