Men’s Shed Week
7th September 2026
12:00 am
7 to 13 September 2026
Every year, thousands of men across Victoria find their way to a shed, not because someone convinced them to take up woodwork, but because someone put the kettle on and said “come and have a cuppa.” That’s what this Men’s Shed Week is all about.
Just a cup of tea, a seat at the table, and a chance to see who you meet. For a lot of men, that one simple moment is where it all begins, a friendship, a new skill, a place to belong.
This Men’s Shed Week, sheds across Victoria will be opening their doors, putting the urn on, and inviting their community in for a cuppa and a chat.
Bring a Mate for a Cuppa
Sheds are encouraged to nominate a day or two during the week to host a morning or afternoon tea. Members are invited to bring along a mate who hasn’t visited a shed before, a simple way to introduce someone new to what a shed has to offer.
The Cuppa Tracker
As sheds host their cuppa through the week, they can check in with a photo on VMSA’s live Cuppa Tracker map. It’s a great way to watch the momentum build across the state in real time, and gives everyone a reason to celebrate together.
Please send us your photos to vmsa@vmsa.org.au or tag us in your social media posts.
Low-effort shed activities
For sheds after a bit of extra fun during the week, try one of these:
- Bring Your Favourite Biscuit Day
- A shed-to-shed visit swap with a nearby shed
- A “Why I Come to the Shed” quote board
The Shed Biscuit
No cuppa is complete without something to go with it. This Men’s Shed Week, we’re sharing The Shed Biscuit, a simple recipe your shed can bake together ahead of your cuppa. It’s an easy activity to do as a group, and gives you something warm and homemade to put on the table.

A great chance to build support
Men’s Shed Week is also a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of VMSA’s Help Us Build a Future campaign. With shedders, families and community members all gathering for a cuppa across the state, it’s the perfect moment to invite a few more names of support for increased funding for Men’s Sheds.
Keep an eye out for your full Come Down for a Cuppa toolkit, including posters, the recipe card and more, in the lead up to September.
