Forest Hill Woodturners Pens for The Troops

Thirty beautifully handcrafted pens have arrived from Forest Hill Woodturners, destined for Australian service men and women serving overseas as part of the Pens for the Troops initiative.

Pens for the Troops is a community based project that has been honouring Australian troops since 2008, when a passionate woodturner named Toni sparked the idea on the Ubeaut Woodwork Forum, inviting fellow craftspeople to show their appreciation for Australian service members through handcrafted pens. The response was immediate and the initiative has been going strong ever since, with pens distributed to members of the Navy, Army and Air Force through Padres in the armed forces.

The thirty pens from Forest Hill Woodturners is a magnificent contribution to this proud tradition, each one a small but meaningful reminder to the men and women in uniform that their service is seen, valued and appreciated back home.

It is a wonderful example of the skill, generosity and community spirit that makes the shedding movement so special.
