Sale Road Show

Over 100 Shedders gathered in Gippsland for a day of learning, sharing, and laughs at the Sale VMSA Road Show.

Hosted at Greyhound Racing Victoria Sale, the day opened with a warm welcome from Wellington Shire Councillor Geoff Wells, setting a positive tone for a full day of connection and conversation.

The speaker program was packed with helpful insights:

  • Suzie Bady from Mental Health and Wellbeing Local shared valuable mental health support information.
  • Nigel McBride from the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia highlighted the importance of early detection and regular health checks.
  • Michael Jacobs from Ambulance Victoria discussed emergency preparedness and sparked discussion on Shed safety.
  • Marty and Stuart from AMSA introduced the Spanner in the Works health initiative, giving Shedders simple ways to take care of their wellbeing.

Lunch was accompanied by live music from the talented Briagolong Band, providing a great atmosphere as Shedders relaxed and caught up.

The afternoon Shed Chat, led by VMSA Board Member Colin Prowd, gave Sheds the chance to share their challenges, ideas and achievements.

Congratulations to Neerim South Men’s Shed, winners of the Bunnings Trade Community Contribution Award, recognised for their work with the Fallen 41 veterans project and a local school partnership.

Thanks to MP Tim Bull for attending, and to JC Walsh Woodworking Machinery & Service and Total Dust Extraction for supporting the day.

And finally, a big thank you to GRV Sale for their generous hospitality, and to all the Shedders who made the journey. Your energy and involvement made the day a great success.
